Google Next22: Highlight of LumApps x Google Gold Partnership

LumApps is the only employee experience platform – and one of the very few among the 5200+ Google partners apps available in the Workspace marketplace – to access the Google Chat API

People all around the world have adapted to flexible working arrangements, notably the millions of users who collaborate and communicate using LumApps via Google Workspace, whether they are based in an office, at home, or on a mobile device.

The popularity of hybrid work has also shown how crucial choice is. People don't like being confined to a single app or an enclosed space. On a daily basis, they need productivity tools, such as video conferencing, and chat, in addition to other crucial applications that serve other purposes, such as assisting them in maintaining contact with clients, visualizing data, managing projects, and much more.

The only realistic and customer-friendly method to assist teams and organizations in maximizing hybrid work is to enable all of those products to function well together. In order to provide completely new ways to utilize third-party applications within or alongside Google Workspace, and to enable organizations to get more value from the solutions they've already invested in, we at LumApps, are thrilled to announce that we are the first to be integrating APIs for Google Chat.

Integrating third-party applications into Google Chat

As a Google privileged partner, LumApps is currently developing a new integration with Chat that will allow users to start a private Google Chat conversation with another worker right from their LumApps employee profile in the platform’s user directory. Finding a coworker and starting a chat are two typical use cases that have been combined to make it easier and faster for Google Workspace users to collaborate.

Among the 5200+ partner apps available in the Workspace marketplace, LumApps is the only employee experience platform – and one of the very few Google partners – to access the Google Chat API and to be featured during the Google Next’22 event.

LumApps plans on enhancing the Chat API to integrate Google Cloud with more features including:

  • 1:1 direct messaging or automatically generated group conversations.
  • Read and create Chat messages without having to actively launch the app, enhancing the app's functionality and enabling contextual understanding of conversations.
  • Automatically copy all messages from one location to another, to make sure essential communications are communicated with your team as far as possible.

In addition to the Google Chat integration, LumApps will enrich the current Google Workspace integrations with the ability for employees to share a LumApps post and a LumApps content to a Google Spaces.

Google Workspace provides the APIs, features, and tools that developers need to get their apps working quickly. Among the 5200+ of partner apps available in the Workspace marketplace, Google partnered with leading SaaS companies, such as LumApps, to integrate the tools you already use into Workspace.” Coming very soon, developers will be able to build apps that can programmatically create one-to-one direct messages for group chats, making their app more interactive and relevant to users. These new APIs will also allow apps to read and write messages programmatically, including message content, attachments, and reactions.- Matt Izatt, Product Lead for Google Workspace, Partnerships and Ecosystem, at Google

We have invested significantly to strengthen our integration with Google Workspace, providing an even more unified experience for our customers. Our continuous growing partner led us to be one of the few partners and unique employee experience platform partner to be  listed on the Google Cloud Platform Marketplace and to be recommended on their marketplace. Idriss Bentoumi, CPO at LumApps

Being such strong partners at all levels also allowed us to win multiple awards through the years,  Google Cloud Technology Partner of the Year Award in 2021 and Google Cloud Communication and Service Provider 2021 Customer Award earlier this year.
