NVA Achieves higher employee satisfaction and a stronger culture with a unified intranet
One of the world’s largest veterinary networks unites over 40,000 team members across 1,300+ pet care locations with a LumApps-powered intranet that simplifies access to tools and strengthens company culture.

About NVA
National Veterinary Associates Group is defining the future of pet health. NVA is a community of approximately 1,300 premier locations across North America, consisting of general practice veterinary hospitals, Ethos Veterinary Health (world-class specialty and emergency hospitals), equine hospitals, and pet resorts.
The Challenge
Uniting a growing organization under one digital roof
As NVA grew into one of the world’s largest veterinary networks, staying connected became more complicated. Without an intranet, staff across more than 1,500 locations relied on a mix of tools and systems to find information and resources. HR, Finance, and other departments each had their own sites, and employees often kept long bookmark bars just to reach everyday tools.
“There were five or six different websites and an old SharePoint server, and nowhere really where files were centralized,” recalls Keenan Kibrick, Intranet and Multimedia Manager at NVA. “Some sites didn’t have a functional search, and others weren’t kept up to date, so no one knew where to find the right information.”
The fragmented experience caused daily friction for employees who just wanted to access what they needed to do their jobs.
“Employees came to us frustrated because they couldn’t find the platforms or systems they needed,” says Cheryl DeSantis, Chief People Officer at NVA. “There were varying passwords, different ways of getting in, and too many reminders to manage.”
What had once been manageable at a smaller scale became harder to sustain as NVA continued to expand. Every new hospital, clinic, and team added more tools and logins to an already crowded environment, making it harder for people to find information or feel connected across locations.
With a large, dispersed workforce and hospitals operating around the clock, NVA’s leaders knew they needed more than a place to post documents. They wanted a single digital hub that would make it easy for every team member to find information, access tools, and stay on the same page.

The Solution
Making it easy for 40,000 team members to find what they need
After evaluating several employee intranet solutions through a formal RFP process, LumApps was chosen for its flexibility, simplicity, and ability to bring all of NVA’s systems together into one secure platform. “We found that LumApps was the easiest to use and best suited to our needs,” says Kibrick. “It helped us put everything together in one spot so people could find their information, news, and benefits all in one place.”
Built on LumApps’ cloud-based architecture, the new intranet — branded “GoFetch” — serves as a central launch point for NVA’s most-used systems, including Dayforce, Oracle, and ServiceNow. Employees can log in once to access all their tools and resources through single sign-on (SSO), while LumApps’ governance and search capabilities keep content accurate and easy to find.
GoFetch also connects employees to tools that simplify daily tasks, like a business intelligence (BI) directory that lets users quickly find and contact any of NVA’s locations. “When you have 1,300+ locations, it’s not easy to figure out who to call,” says Michelle Reardon, Head of Communications at NVA. “Now, you can open GoFetch, pull down the locations menu, and jump right into the BI tool to get where you need to go.”
The intranet experience is personalized for each employee based on their role, location, and business unit. With a customized homepage and targeted communications, GoFetch helps reduce email volume while making sure everyone receives the information that matters most to them.
With its modern design, intuitive navigation, and community-driven pages — including dedicated spaces for employee resource groups (ERGs) — GoFetch has become more than a hub for tools and news. It’s a digital home that connects employees to the brand and to each other. “Since we’re a remote organization, our intranet has become the way we connect with the brand,” says DeSantis. “GoFetch is how we bring our people together.”

We found that LumApps was the easiest to use and best suited to our needs. It helped us put everything together in one spot so people could find their information, news, and benefits all in one place.
Strengthening culture through connection
GoFetch quickly became part of NVA’s daily rhythm, with nearly 10,000 employees now logging in each day to find updates, share resources, and connect with peers. With a single login, employees can access everything from payroll and benefits to IT support and company news — all in one place.
“User satisfaction has increased fivefold with LumApps because employees can finally find what they need without chasing down links or juggling passwords,” says DeSantis. The platform has also made onboarding smoother, giving new hires one clear place to get started.
GoFetch has given NVA leaders a new window into how teams work and collaborate. With LumApps’ analytics, they can see what employees search for most, which pages perform best, and where information gaps exist.
And GoFetch didn’t just make work easier; it has also strengthened company culture. “Employees come to GoFetch for the information they need, but stay because it brings back the watercooler moments that help them feel part of something bigger,” says Desantis. “While they’re getting answers or updates, they’re also finding a sense of community.”
For local teams, that connection directly improves patient care. “GoFetch offers me the opportunity to focus on patients by having resources at my fingertips,” says Lindsey Vaughn, Medical Director at Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center. With instant access to medical journals and colleagues’ insights, teams like Vaughn’s can exchange best practices and give doctors the support they need to continue providing high-quality care.
Today, GoFetch is far more than a repository for documents. It’s how NVA connects as a community united by purpose. With LumApps, NVA’s teams can spend less time searching and more time on what matters most: caring for pets and the people who love them.
