LumApps Play turns one: Celebrating a year of streamlined video management in large organizations

It’s already been a year since we’ve launched LumApps Play, our video-management solution coming from our first-ever acquisition. 

This 2021 M & A signed our partnership with a great team of top-notch engineers and sales professionals, led by founder Blaise Kremer. It’s been a year of hard work to bring their internal video management expertise to the LumApps platform and meet our vision on the future of employee experience:Transform video into knowledge and empower employees to share their experiences in video format.

According to Aragon Research, “50% of enterprises will leverage video content to enhance overall employee experience by 2025”. LumApps’ vision to seamlessly integrate video capabilities into any company’s employee experience platform is right on point. Organizations should be able to empower employees with ready-to-use, seamless, and relevant video content to share information and knowledge, and encourage content consumption at scale. 

Video is the channel that achieves the greatest engagement with our workforce, and we use video when a message needs to resonate with our employees, said Mark Harvey, Assistant Vice President of Communications at PennyMac, an American residential mortgage company headquartered in California.

We have used the product to broadcast videos to our employees via our intranet easily. • When searching for an answer to a question at work, 49% of employees are likely to watch a video instead of reading the coinciding article, according to LumApps survey of 3,000+ employees. 
• Employees surveyed prefer to find video content within an internal communications platform by keyword search, instead of navigating to the “Videos” section (63% vs 22%).

Frustrations with video search are palpable among those at organizations with comparatively large video archives”, said consulting firm Wainhouse Research. Among respondents of a 2021 survey they run, 72% agree that “when searching for content that I need, relevant on-demand videos are harder to find than text documents.

 

With LumApps Play, videos are now indexed into LumApps native search and Coveo’s. Company’s celebrations, leadership announcements, meeting replays, tutorials, and video is now a go-to business communication tool for most organizations. In a hybrid work environment, video content bridges the gap between on-site and off-site employees, helping connecting or re-connecting teams. Teams can search content by the video’s title, author, description, and more.
