Red Energy Engages Employees with a New Social Platform
Red Energy launched a new intranet to unite three different brands inside the Snowy Hydro group.
About Red Energy
Red Energy is an energy retailer in Australia, operating within the National Electricity Market (NEM) selling to both residential and commercial customers.

Red Energy’s main wish was to create 1 team: 1 business, 3 brands.
As each brand had their own intranet, all operating on separate and outdated software, Red Energy struggled to communicate the same message consistently. Not all employees had access to all intranets and contributors often had to duplicate communications for each system.
The goal of the project was to ignite conversation and foster community.
Red Energy had been interested in LumApps since 2015, however their infrastructure needed to be restructured beforehand. By 2017 Red Energy had become a G Suite business, so LumApps was an obvious fit.

Campfire brought employees from 3 different brands together as one group, providing more consistent communications across the business. The new intranet communicates everything to everyone, in a format that’s engaging and interesting, with the ability for employees to follow interests.
One of the objectives was to create conversation, and that is happening. I have never seen that before.
